This special training focuses on the particular problems associated with cylindrical worm and crossed helical gears. Starting with theory and calculation methods, participants will design, recalculate and optimize cylindrical worm gears. Exercises will help to apply knowledge and deepen understanding of the topics learned.

The course is targeting engineers who have already a sound knowledge of the software, particularly of the gear modules or who have attended the advanced training course(s) on cylindrical gear stages.

Date and Time

The training will take place in 2 consecutive sessions.

For participants in Europe:
June 11, 2025: CEST 2:00 pm - 5:30 pm (Berlin)
June 12, 2025: CEST 2:00 pm - 5:30 pm (Berlin)

For participants in parts of the Americas:
June 11, 2025: EDT 8:00 am - 11:30 pm (New York)
June 12, 2025: EDT 8:00 am - 11:30 pm (New York)

Topics

In the first part, the fundamental theory topics of worm gears and crossed helical gears are summarized. The differences between worms with/without globoid form and worm wheels with/without globoid form are shown. An overview of the different calculation methods is given. The second part deals with designing, recalculating and optimizing worm wheels and crossed helical gears.

Notebook

You will need a notebook to actively participate in the training. It is advantageous to have 2 screens, but this is not a prerequisite.

Registration deadline: June 4, 2025
