Contact Analysis for Cylindrical and Planetary Gears
Optimizing the loaded contact pattern of gear pairs in a mesh to avoid premature damage is a challenge for every engineer.
This special training provides theoretical knowledge and calculation possibilities of the LTCA allowing thus an exact representation of the conditions in the tooth contact which permits the design and optimization with regards to noise, transmission error, traverse contact ratio and tooth trace modifications.
The training is designed for engineers who are already familiar with cylindrical gears and planetary systems and have already completed an advanced training on gear calculation. Because a good knowledge of geometry and strength calculations is essential for understanding the training contents.
Dates and Times
The training will take place in 3 sessions on 3 consecutive days.
For participants in Europe:
September 26-28, 2023: CET 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm (Brussels)
For participants in parts of the Americas:
September 26-28, 2023 EST 8:00 am - 12:00 pm (New York)
Topics
The first part of the training uses the calculation of the face load factor as an introduction to the more detailed theory of contact pattern calculation. The course explains essential issues such as modeling and stiffness and goes into detail about how to check and interpret the results.
The second part covers special contact analysis topics such as consideration of shaft deformation and planetary gear units. Participants will reinforce what they have learned by using the powerful sizing and optimization functions.
The full schedule is provided in the training program.
You will need a notebook to actively participate in the training course. It is advantageous to have 2 screens, but this is not a prerequisite.
Hardware and software requirements
Registration deadline: September 21, 2023
Before the start of the training, participants will receive an actual test version, electronic training documentation and an invitation link to join the Live Stream training.
Completion
Upon successful completion of the course, a certificate is issued.
