Bearings make the world go round

KISSsoftⓇ gear and transmission system design software started some 40 years ago as an in-house software in a Swiss gearbox company. The company KISSsoft AG by now supports some 4000 licensees with best-in-class gear and transmission design tools. The software includes internationally recognized calculation standards as well as various design and optimization options, according to the slogan "Sharing Knowledge".
Today we are pleased to announce that NSK has provided their extensive bearing data “catalogue data” for inclusion in KISSsoftⓇ software with release 2023. With this, the engineer can execute static rating, basic and modified life rating based on load capacity numbers in line with ISO 281 and ISO 76 along with thermal rating. The bearing database in KISSsoftⓇ gives access to up-to-date NSK bearing data in an easy to use yet detailed manner using the shaft-bearing system modeler.
The following bearing types are covered: deep groove ball bearings (single row), angular contact ball bearings (single row), taper roller bearings (single row), cylindrical roller bearings (single row) and spherical roller bearings.
Moving forward, NSK and KISSsoft AG will continue to update and expand on the included bearing data.
